Nishi-Azabu

I spied this gorgeous little wisteria tree along a quiet street in Nishi-Azabu. We had just finished dinner at a nearby restaurant. I was mostly impressed with how well-maintained it was, bringing beauty and joy to whomever walked by.

Izzie Lewis

I had the privilege of visiting Izzie Lewis, another renowned miller in Seattle. Izzie graciously opened her studio to me on a rainy morning, letting me observe her at work. She also teaches her craft to a group of dedicated students, some of which have gone on to forge careers of their own.

Jean Hicks

I had the honor of shooting at the studio of Jean Hicks, a renowned milliner and felt-maker. Jean's work has been exhibited around the world (including the Smithsonian). It was real fun to see her at work and to learn more about her fascinating craft, which is painstaking to accomplish from start to finish.
